I love ideas. Whether as a writer or designer, I'm always looking
for the best way to communicate them.
I write reviews and feature articles on visual art for The Los Angeles Times, Artforum,
ARTnews and other publications. I have also been a contributing editor for Art on Paper and art critic for the SF
Weekly. I'm a 2007 recipient of a Creative
Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant and a co-author
of Fresh
Talk, Daring Gazes: Conversations on Asian American Art
(University of California Press, 2003).
With 14 years of interactive design experience, including several years
in fast-paced New York City agencies, I have skills,
discipline and big client experience.
I'm an expert in creative concept development, interface design,
and interactive branding, and I have the communication and project
management skills to make sure that a project gets done on strategy,
on time and on budget.
From my background as a visual artist, I take a conceptual approach
to design. I know how to define, develop, and extend a core message.
I don't have a rigid style, but am always looking for the "big idea"
that guides and determines the overall design.
