Sharon Mizota is an art critic and archivist whose writing appears regularly in the Los Angeles Times. In 2011-12 she reviewed all 69 official “Pacific Standard Time” exhibitions in the series “PST: A to Z.” She has also written for Artforum, X-TRA Contemporary Art Quarterly, ARTNews and other publications. She is a recipient of a Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Arts Writers’ Grant and a coauthor of the award-winning book, Fresh Talk/Daring Gazes: Conversations on Asian American Art.
As an archivist, she has worked at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Walt Disney Animation Research Library. In 2020, she will serve as a mentor in the International Art Critics Association Art Writing Workshop. Sharon studied art at the University of California, Berkeley, received her MFA from Rutgers University and her MLIS from San Jose State University. She lives in Los Angeles.
